History

Uki Mill is the most northern timber mill in NSW, located 3km from Uki under the shadow of Mt Warning.

We've been around a long time. The sawmill was first built in 1955, being one of the many mills on the NSW north coast that manufactured banana cases.

In 1980 Harding Brothers bought the mill and started to move away from banana cases into structural timber, poles, girders, landscape timber, garden stakes, sawdust and firewood supplies. To handle the work, major extensions were added and more equipment purchased.

Most of the timber mills in the district closed down during tough times. The Uki Sawmill survived and is now a major supplier of quality timber hardwood to northern NSW and south eastern Queensland.
